I went to Cordoba y Sevilla last weekend!!! It was Awesome. Our first stop on our trip was some ruins (I didn’t post any pictures because to be honest, I chalked it up to a pile of rocks) that where discovered when a bomb fell on the site exposing the long hidden city. Then we visited the lovely cordoba and got to o the the famous mosquita and rummage around the city. Then we headed over to Sevilla, where all these lovely images (except for the first) come from! The mushroom looking structure actually has a museum and a skywalk under and on top of it, respectively. The next three photos are from the kings home in Sevilla, and fun fact, they built it like the Alhambra, which is why it looks so similar! The other photos are from Plaza de España, where they shot parts of Star Wars (it’s naboo)!
So I went back to Madrid a few weeks ago, as well as Toledo. Not too much happened because I was feeling rather ill, but a few interesting things happened… I ate a a Mexican food restaurant in Spain, a Chinese restaurant, saw one of the worlds largest cathedrals in Toledo, went to the Prado, The second largest palace in the world, and saw a 4 century B.C. Egyptian temple. Not to bad for being sickly.
Last night we played our first intramural game of fútbol! We did surprisingly well for our first game! Unfortunately, we lost 5-6. We were all pretty proud of ourselves until we learned that it was basically a single elimination tournament… Then we were all pretty upset. Next month there will be another single elimination tournament, but it just isn’t the same as playing all semester. After the game we got tapas from La Mancha (the stain), and they were amazing. The owners were really nice as well. I plan on going back.
